To all of our members who made it to the annual meeting, WOW! Thank you. We had a fantastic turn out with great conversations and feedback. If you missed the meeting, one highlight was celebrating our growth from three members two years ago to a very impressive 323 members today!
Another important message was the expansion of courts coming to our area this year. In addition to the existing outdoor courts, look forward to these (coming in MAY, weather dependent):
six courts at Baldwin Park (25th and Geist)
six courts at Zuck Park (Zuck and West Grandview)
two courts at Asbury Park (4106 Asbury Road)
Coming in September: four indoor courts at Around the Post, 2660 Zuck Rd. Only fifty memberships are left for the 2023/2024 season. $125 for EPPA members.
A token of appreciation for EPPA founders Bob Borgia, Tom Wisinski, and Jim Perrotto was also presented. Bob, Tom, and Jim have put in HOURS of work getting EPPA to the point we are at now. Benches are being installed at the Eastside YMCA, Picnicana Park in Summit Township, and at Edinboro's outdoor courts. These plaques, courtesy of Brandon Borgia, will be installed on the benches in honor of our founders.
Kellar's did a top-notch job with set up, service, clean up, and then even surprised us with a comedic performance to wrap up the event. Thank you to Bobby and Brandon Borgia, Jackie, and comedian John Mulrooney.
New Board Members
We know we have some BIG shoes to fill as Bob, Tom, and Jim step down. We have assembled a new panel of board members who we know will make the best decisions possible in order to continue the growth of the EPPA! Thank you to those who are staying on and welcome to our new additions. The new board will be:
Elena Arnold, President
Andre Francis, Vice President
Rick Seibel, Treasurer
Renee Majchrzak, Secretary
Sherry Elchynski, Board Member
Rob Ricart, Board Member
Good Luck Wishes
The Minto US Open Pickleball Championships are underway in Naples, FL. We have some EPPA members competing and we are cheering you on from near and far! Scott Lightner will be competing in Mens Doubles and Oto Hlincik will be playing Mixed Doubles. We know that both will be bringing the heat to the courts. I apologize if I missed any other EPPA players. Best of luck to ALL!
