Beginner/Novice Player? This One is for YOU

Elena Arnold posted over 1 year ago
We are astounded at the number of players who have participated in beginner clinics/trainings at the local YMCAs, Westwood Racquet Club, and Church of the Cross!  * Sorry if I missed anywhere else who teaches beginners*  This is so exciting for the growth of our sport moving forward.

We want to welcome you to the EPPA by hosting a shootout just for YOU!  Join us on Sunday, May 7th starting at 1:00 pm at Westwood Racquet Club.  Somewhat short notice, but the beauty is- you don't need a partner. Sign up solo, rotate with other players throughout the day, meet some new friends, and have FUN!

Definition of Beginner/Novice Player

  • Able to serve the ball in regularly
  • Knows the two bounce rule and demonstrates it most times
  • Knows where to stand on the court during serve, serve receive and general play
  • Approaches the non-volley zone to hit volleys
  • Knows fundamental rules and can keep score
  • Skill levels: 3.0 and below. USA Pickleball ratings linked HERE.

EPPA tournament organizers will contact you if we feel this is not the appropriate shootout for you.

The shootout is linked here: Beginner/Novice Rotating Round Robin Shootout. You have ONE week to register.  We know people have been wanting to play, so sign up SOON! Not sure if shootouts are for you?  Sign up and give it a try.  A day full of structured pickleball matches is always a day well spent!
