Today is a big day for pickleballers, and an even bigger day for Erie Pickleballers!

Taco Tuesday: if you pre-registered for this event, we can't wait to see you starting at 5:00 pm at Zuck Park. The weather is looking GREAT for this evening! You can play pickleball, or dance to MAMBO, or do both. Please make sure you check in at the registration table. If you purchased EPPA merch, you can ask for it there as well!

National Pickleball Day: the perfect chance to get out and play your favorite sport. Do you have a friend who has been asking you to teach him/her the sport? If you do not have the time (or patience), send that person our way! We are spreading the love of pickleball by holding a Learn to Play Clinic at Zuck Park on Sunday, August 27th. Click the link for more information and registration.

Erie Gives Day: from 8 am to 8 pm, you have the chance to support Erie Pickleball Players Association by donating through Erie Gives Day. If you've benefited from free lessons, discounted clinics, free social events, played on the new courts that we advocated for...we would appreciate you thinking of us when you go to donate!
A newer and amazingly helpful EPPA member, Bruce, recently sent me this message to share with our membership. I think it's a great example of the power of pickleball and our EPPA community. Today being National Pickleball Day and Erie Gives Day seems like the perfect time to post it:
Life story: I sold my house in the DuBois, PA area last year and started looking for another house using Places2Play, a great website where on can find pickleball places to play. I was looking in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland but nothing interested me.
Finally, my brother Jim, who lives in Erie, suggested temporarily moving in with him and his beautiful wife Sally in Erie. Erie was never on my radar. So eventually I took my brother up on his offer, I moved in with him and I’ve never been happier.
The pickleballers at Baldwin Park are incredible. If you are one of these players, I just want to thank you for accepting me into your family. I’ve realize now that I can’t leave Erie and it’s because of all you crazy, funny and incredibly talented pickleballers. Thank you! Bruce
