Thank you to all who attended our Annual Members Meeting on Tuesday! The last few years have been a very exciting time for pickleball in our area and we had much to celebrate. I have an immense feeling of pride in Erie Pickleball Players Association and the growth we have made in a relatively short amount of time. The “vibe” in the room was positive, grateful, and energetic. Let’s keep that spirit on the courts!
A few important points to highlight from the meeting:
- If you play on any public courts, churches, or private facilities in the area, you truly should be a member (and stay a member) of EPPA. Our group advocates for and supports these courts and we have strength in numbers.
- Your membership dues go to:
-
Education: Clinics, demo days, rating days
-
Competition: Shootouts/tournaments
-
Socialization: At least four FREE events each year plus the annual dinner
-
Equipment: Squeegees, brooms, netting, paddle holders, tape, and pickleballs for local venues
- Every EPPA member is an ambassador for our sport. Please welcome newcomers and explain how the parks work. Sometimes people do not know to rotate, etc. You can always refer to the signage at the parks if new players don’t understand.
- If you have a question or a concern regarding a park, we ask that you bring your concern to us and we will reach out as an organization. We have very positive relationships with the municipalities that we hope to maintain!
Update since the meeting: the bench at Zuck was moved outside the fence. That is the final decision on its location, please leave it there. Millcreek is working to get more trash/recycling cans at Zuck soon!
I am including a link to the Google slides for anyone who is interested and was not able to attend.
