It's heartwarming to see our pickleball community supporting each other, lending a helping hand, and growing the sport. Here are some of the GREAT things happening:
The beginners clinics at Baldwin Park (Wednesdays at 11 am) and at North East HS (Fridays at 9:30 am) have been a big hit. We love seeing so many people excited to learn to play. Thanks to all of the participants for making these clinics both fun and educational.
Speaking of learning to play, there have been several EPPA members volunteering their time to help mentor youth from the Urban University at the Erie City Mission. These kids (7th- 12th grade) are working hard to learn the fundamentals of the sport this week. There have been lots of smiles and laughs from both the kids and the adults!
Today the courts at Baldwin Park got a face lift! About a dozen volunteers came out in the HOT sun to tape lines and paint. It looks WONDERFUL. Check out the pictures below. Thanks again to all who helped!
Whitford park looks beautiful (see pic below) and will be dedicated this Friday morning, June 24th @ 9:30 am, but get there early to secure your spot if you are planning to come! Some members who played today reported back that the courts are top notch.
Coming soon: two courts are being lined at the Greene Township Municipal Building (9333 Tate Road). More info on this to come in the near future.
Thanks to ALL EPPA members! Your membership helps to support the growth of pickleball in the Erie area. We appreciate all of you.
