As we have mentioned before, the City of Erie is currently creating a
20-year plan to guide improvements to parks, recreation, and open spaces—covering facilities, programs, and maintenance. The goal is to invest fairly across the city, so all residents have access to high-quality spaces and activities.
A survey is now out for ALL people who live, work, or utilize Erie parks. We, EPPA, can give input to the City, but we do not have control over public parks. This is your time to be heard! If you want more pickleball courts, shaded/covered areas, running water-
PLEASE take the ten minutes to complete the survey! I just did it myself and it is very user friendly.
When it gets to the section about what you would like to see in Erie Parks- there IS an option for pickleball courts (you have to scroll down a little bit to get there). Also included are tennis, padel, badminton (and a ton of other options). Certainly feel free to pick any that you would benefit from, but also look for the "pickleball" option if you desire more outdoor public courts in Erie.
I will also share the link on group messaging apps, but
click here to take the survey. If the link does not work for some reason, google: Erie, PA Parks Survey and you will find it! The survey will remain open until
Friday, October 31, 2025.
