Holiday Party Recap

Elena Arnold posted 4 days ago
We set a lofty goal this year to have four locations simultaneously hosting our Holly, Jolly Pickleball Party at (just about) the same time! As our membership grows, it gets harder to hold all of our members in one location and we also like to highlight the many facilities that Erie has to offer.

We never could have done this without our amazing volunteers- Nina and Steph organized an impressive team who spread holiday cheer throughout the pickleball community at Around the Post, Church of the Cross, the Glenwood YMCA, and Presque Isle Pickleball.

Our EPPA Elves included-
Around the Post: Steph Weunski, Melissa Hart, Della Pilliteri, Marci Stitt, and Steph Motsch
Church of the Cross: Maria Carano and Noreen Griffith
Glenwood YMCA: Deb Holder
Presque Isle Pickleball: Nina Siggia and Renee Majchrzak

Sontheimer's Bakery supplied dozens of delicious, homemade cookies that were met with RAVE reviews.  Jeremy Spaeder is our EPPA treasurer and also baker extraordinaire who has been working non-stop this holiday season to provide delicious, made from scratch goodies to families around our area- including OUR EPPA family. Thank you to Jeremy and Sontheimer's Bakery!

We had board members present at each location throughout the day. Between the rallies, laughs, and holiday spirit, it was a day to remember. We’re lucky to share the courts with all of you. We were also happy to give every current EPPA member who requested one a free EPPA towel- which will look great clipped on your pickleball (or golf) bag!

Our most festive winners (and it was hard to pick) ended up being:
Around the Post: Shift One- Brian Mullen (aka Santa) and Shift Two- Doreen Gray (aka Cindy Lou Who)
Church of the Cross: Andrew Foyle
Glenwood YMCA: Cindy Shields
Presque Isle Pickleball: Staci Baker

Finally, thank you to all who gave a donation to Erie City Mission!  It's nice to remember others during this season and we are grateful to have such a generous and caring pickleball community.  We were able to collectively raise $340.

As we wrap up this year and head into 2026, we’re excited for another year of connection, competition, and fun on the pickleball courts together.
