More Than a Game: Giving Back

Elena Arnold posted 2 days ago

The Power of Our Community

Last week EPPA and Around the Post partnered up to host a free clinic to the first thirty registered members.  We suggested attendees consider making a donation to the ANNA Shelter in honor of Aimee, the puppy who was found in very poor condition in freezing temperatures.  Despite all of the efforts by the teams of volunteers and vets, Aimee sadly did not make it.

After one day, almost $700 was raised and Around the Post members were then invited to contribute. In less than one week, we got many generous donations and Andre and I were able to deliver shelter supplies and $2,015 to the ANNA Shelter this morning! This won't bring Aimee back, but it will help prevent this cruelty from happening to other animals in the future.

Note: Erie Pickleball Players Association is a small non-profit.  We will not give out funds to other non-profits.  The board has decided to use our intellect (how to run clinics, tournaments, learn to plays) and our software to help others at times.  None of these monetary donations to the ANNA shelter came from EPPA's funds, just from some of our very generous members.

EPPA used to be the only "gig" in town running tournaments and now there are many facilities in the region hosting their own events and we see that as a great testament to the growth of pickleball in this area.  However, EPPA will still be hosting quarterly competitive events- and we may be biased, but we organize a darn good tournament that you won't want to miss!

Save the Date

February 21 and 22 will be the next Erie Pickleball Players Association Tournament.  MANY divisions with something for everyone.  Stay tuned for all details coming soon!
