EPPA members who play at Baldwin Park may have noticed new signs hanging on the fencing. These signs highlight the already existing bullet point on the main Baldwin signs hanging on the east and west fencing. There is no new rule on these signs and they were hung in collaboration with the City because there have been problems, especially in the evenings, with people playing singles and/or not rotating off when many others are waiting to play.
Having the signs more visible as people enter and exit the courts should help to cut down on players 'hogging' courts. If you want to go to a public park and play as long as you want without rotating off, then you must go at an off time when other players are not waiting.
We have heard concerns about Zuck Park as well and are contacting Millcreek Township about updating and enhancing those signs as well. Baldwin sign.png695 KB
Memorial Shootout
Our biggest tournament of the year is fast approaching. We will be hosting the Memorial Shootout on July 25-26 at Baldwin Park. This shootout honors those who came before us in the pickleball community- the full list will be shared closer to the tournament.
The registration link is now open! Please pay close attention to what day/time each division will be held. We also will be hosting a free youth division for those players 12-17, that will be posted later as a separate event. As always, current EPPA members pay significantly less for our shootouts. If you know someone who wants to play, encourage him/her to join EPPA and the discount will apply to this event.
We would love to have every skill level AND age group, but due to timing and court availability, we had to split womens, mens and mixed into "Under 4.0" and "4.0+". Tournaments are self-rated- we encourage you to use a rating that you may have or your DUPR rating. If you are on the cusp between two levels, this is a good time to try playing UP. The EPPA tournament committee will contact you if they feel your division is not appropriate.
