Mission Empower's First Shootout
EPPA is assisting Mission Empower with their first pickleball fundraiser by providing registration services and consulting on administration and format of their tournament! We are excited to see the sport of pickleball grow as multiple different organizations see the potential for fundraising and awareness through this sport. They are hosting this shootout at Edinboro YMCA thanks to a generous donation of court time from the great folks there.
Mission Empower, an Erie-based community resource center, empowers families and children with disabilities. Through advocacy, education, and promoting inclusion, they help these children reach their full potential. Mission Empower offers programs like workshops to understand disabilities, paid internship sourcing, events for critical thinking and skill development, and works to create a welcoming community for all abilities.
For this tournament we highly encourage players to register with loved ones who may not be as integrally involved with the pickleball community. We find it highly unlikely that pro players like Ben Johns will register but if we feel that a team that has registered may not be the best fit, we will reach out to them and discuss options!
