We recently saw a spike in new EPPA members AND in renewals from last year, so I want to start by thanking all of our members! Although we try to keep our costs low, there is a fee associated with membership and we genuinely value your investment into the Erie Pickleball Players Association community. We are only 14 people shy of the 500 member mark and I have no doubt that we will get there soon.
An easy way to get the most out of your membership is by participating in the events that we offer. All events are FREE to members- including this Sunday's "Soup-er Bowl" at Around the Post.
It's the week before the Super Bowl (Feb. 4th 5-8 pm), so your football free Sunday can now be occupied by pickleball. We are using the courts at Around the Post AND taking over multiple courts on the Westwood side to make this event HUGE! There will be NO soup making competition this year. Soups, salad, and sandwiches will be catered- please do not bring food. Just bring a change of shoes, a paddle, and your fun-loving self.
Open to all EPPA members, you do not need to be an Around the Post Member to attend. However, due to our growing membership, no guests of EPPA members are allowed.
Registration closes on February 1 at 8:00 pm. Register here.

Senior Shootout
Another way to enjoy member benefits- play in an EPPA or EPPA affiliated shootout and get a discount! Players keep telling board members that senior players really want a shootout just for them- here is your chance! Events/shootouts that fill fast are more likely to become regular occurrences. You must be 55+ and have a partner- we will do the rest after you register.
This event, held at Presque Isle Pickleball on Saturday Feb. 17 starting at 10:00 am, will also host a "Youth/Mentor" Division. The mentor registers and the youth player is FREE. We need at least 4 to run this division and we already have three!
Register HERE for both the Senior Division and the Youth Division. Just select the one that you are playing in.

Clinic Update
EPPA hosted a big "Learn to Play" event at Around the Post last weekend. Court time was generously donated and all instructors and helpers volunteered their time as well. Proceeds benefited dedicated EPPA member Brande Dietrich-McLean's fundraising efforts for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of her mother. Brande's full story can be read here. Between the clinic, the raffle that Brande organized, and private donations- over $1,100 was raised! Thanks to all involved with this great event.
